Description

The path to the Ladder of Kotor starts at the beginning of the river Skurda, just a few minutes walk from the old town of Kotor to the fortress of San Giovanni.

The Ladder of Kotor, also known as the Ladder of Cattaro (Venetian name) is an old military path built by the Austrians, like many roads in Montenegro. The road connected Kotor and Montenegro's royal capital Cetinje and was also used to bring goods to the market in Kotor.
