Komiza, old town and today a holiday resort in the north of the wide bay Zaliv Komiza on the west side of the island Vis. In the north of the bay is the approx. 200m long pier for the fishing boats. Here you can moor on the inside, behind the fishermen, on 3 - 2m water depth.
The pier is relatively high for yachts, but swell and swell from the west from the Adriatic, run here unbroken into the bay - 100sm to Italy.
You can moor here directly in front of the village on the palm-lined waterfront near the small, Venetian fort (16th century) with the fishing museum.
There are also 4 mooring fields and you can moor there for a fee.
South of the pier, behind the mooring field is also an anchorage, but that on poorly holding ground. Since the island of Vis is 590m high, it can sometimes come to gusts, so you should anchor only in calm weather.
The place is border port, but unfortunately not always manned, so it is better to do the clearing in and out in the village of Vis. There are also 2 dive centers on the shore on both sides of the pier.
