Isla Conejera, in the northwest of Ibiza, is a barren island
inhabited only by hawks, cormorants, seagulls, lizards and rabbits.
But there is legend:
According to legend, the later famous Carthaginian general Hannibal was born on the island. Hannibal's father Hamilcar Barca and his wife were aboard a warship, caught in a storm, and sought shelter on the south side of the island. Hamilcar's heavily pregnant wife was taken to a cave and gave birth to a son Hannibal - to this day the cave is called "Casa d'Annibal".
