About the sea lock in Hooksiel is the tide-independent Hooksmeer with the  North Sea  connected.

The access to the Hooksieler Binnentief is directly from the fairway of the Jade, over a starboard side ausgeprickte  channel, to the Hooksieler lock. The channel (276.5°), marked with directional beacons and with a water depth of approx. 2m at low water, is narrow and tends to silting up. However, it is dredged regularly. In the outer harbor, there is a little more water depth on a silty bottom than in the entrance. Moorings to wait for a lock can be found alongside fishing boats or at the sheet pile wall.

The locks take place every hour on the hour.  The lock terminal has at NW ca.1.5m water depth.  Current information on lock times published by the operator:

Die Ansteuerung ist nicht mit Pricken bezeichnet, lediglich die Tonne H3 und die Richtbaken bezeichnen das Fahrwasser

Die Schleuse arbeitet aufgrund eines Defekts seit 10/2021 nur ca. 2h um Hochwasser zu bestimmten Tageszeiten.

Leider ist die Schleuse telefonisch nicht erreichbar. Ein Hinweis auf einen eventuellen Funkkanal gibt es nicht. Ist da etwas geplant ?
