NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

Borkum is quite easy to approach even under unfavourable wind and weather conditions. The harbours are approached from the deep fairway of the Ranzelgat, the sea inlet in the area of the mouth of the Ems. To the south of the lighted three-legged beacon, you enter the "Fischerbalje", which is buoyed on both sides. North of the fairway, the guide dam, which is flooded during high water, immediately provides noticeable protection.

Berths

Guest berths can be found on the north side of pontoon 1. Up to three boats are allowed to berth here in the pack.

Surroundings

Except for a restaurant and a bunker for diesel or rolls at the harbour master there are no supply possibilities at the harbour. However, there is a bus and a train connection to the 6km distant city of Borkum or you can also rent bicycles at the harbor master. In the touristy very turbulent city you will find very good supply possibilities.
