Description

Oost-Vlieland's harbor, situated about 1km from the town center, is a frequent stop for many vessels. It offers modern and well-maintained harbour facilities right within the Waddenzee, surrounded by the natural landscape of the island.

Strong cross-setting currents are at the harbor entrance. Approach with caution also for traffic, especially in the busy summer season.

Monitor VTS Brandaris communications in the entire VTS area on VHF channel 2. VTS Brandaris offers real-time updates throughout its VTS area and can be reached to for additional information. Weather and shipping report broadcast every half hour after an uneven hour (e.g. 1330h). Leisure vessels are not required to report to Brandaris VTS.

Berths

In peak summer times, notably during school holidays, the harbor often reaches its maximum capacity. Vessels may need to anchor southeast of buoy VS16/VB1 and wait for the harbor master's signal. He typically approaches in a dinghy, especially after several boats have departed, often just before low water, allowing them to ride the tide to Harlingen.
