Description

Scenic natural harbour with a beautiful old town right next to the harbour on the west coast of Menorca. The numerous restaurants along the beautiful harbor promenade offer everything: Daily fresh fish and seafood, paellas and Menorcan specialties.
This port is known for a tsunami-like phenomenon (meteorological tsunami) that occurs from time to time and in the past has sometimes caused great damage to boats, bars and restaurants (most recently in 2006). It occurs only once or twice a year and is usually weak. In isolated cases, however, the harbour basin dries up almost completely within a few seconds and the water then returns in a huge wave.

NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

Approach and entry are simple and straightforward. Ciutadella Bay is about 4.5 nautical miles north of Cabo D'Artruitx, which is easy to spot. The houses of Ciutadella and a conspicuous tower on the east side of the entrance, with an even more an even more conspicuous hotel behind it, can also be seen from a distance. Port entry and departure signals are occasionally shown at both shoresides.

Berths

On the south side are the Club Nautico berths, where you can moor with the bow or with the stern on the 107 m long pier with mooring lines. For guests there are also other moorings in front of the old town.
