Description

Small municipal harbor facility (water depth 1 - 2.5 m) with adjoining traditional inn in an idyllic location by the forest in the far northeast of Breitling.

Navigation

From the turning basin of the overseas port, the approach is in a north-easterly direction through the Schnatermann fairway marked with light buoys. The jetty itself is unlit.
Caution: Outside the fairway, it quickly becomes very shallow, sometimes with stones.

Berths

The few berths on the quay or in the small harbor basin are reserved for moorers or passenger ships. Rather unprotected in strong westerly to south-westerly winds. Few guest berths, by arrangement only. Rostock water sports enthusiasts like to use the harbor as a weekend excursion destination.

Surroundings

Except for the excursion restaurant with hotel operation, there are no utilities on site (electricity and water only for permanent residents).

The idyllic location in the north-east of Breitling is the ideal starting point for exploring the adjacent "Rostocker Heide" nature reserve with its cycling, riding and hiking trails. A passenger boat runs from Schnatermann to Markgrafenheide or Warnemünde during the season. Beautiful bathing beach directly south of the harbor.
