Description

The town harbour is not very big and occupied with local boats, at the outer pier you can moor at  stern moorings, but mostly occupied.  At Juno and Bora no protected harbour. Baska is a lively seaside resort and traditional small town surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. The panorama with the  at Croatia's coast is omnipresent, the more than 1.600m high mountain ranges on the mainland are impressive.

Baska offers numerous sights, besides the typical architecture of the Kvarner Bay, the impressive Frankopanen Kastell (12.Jhr.) at the port behind it the old town with restaurants, bars and cafes. On the promenade there are more shops and lively bathing life. In the town monuments and churches, for example the "Glagolitic path of Baška", it consists of stone monuments, which are placed in various places in the town, letters from the Cyrillic alphabet - the Glagolica - the oldest script of the Slavic peoples.   The path is intended to commemorate the cultural heritage of the town and the Baška tablet found here. (depicted on the 100 kuna banknote).
