The approach to the Hooksieler Binnentief is directly from the Jade fairway, via a channel marked on the starboard side, to the Hooksiel lock. The channel (276.5°), which is marked with directional beacons and has a water depth of approx. 2 m at low tide, is narrow and tends to silting up. However, it is dredged regularly. In the outer harbor there is a little more water depth on a muddy bottom than in the entrance. Moorings to wait for a lock can be found alongside fishing boats or on the sheet pile wall.

The locks are opened on the hour.

The lock terminal has a water depth of approx. 1.5 m at NW.m water depth.  Current information on the lock times is published by the operator:

Berths

The shipyard offers extensive yacht service  and boat supplies.
Fuel can be found at the bunkering point in the outer harbor.
