Description

Very touristy fishing and yacht harbor in the dike foreland.

NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

The approach is from the Wurster Arm via the bulging "Wremer Tief" tidal inlet. The harbor and tidal channel are dry. The pricks are on the north side of the fairway, so they are "red" pricks. However, there are also green pricks halfway along, so watch out! The entrance is a little tricky. The color markings are sometimes difficult to see. It is about one and a quarter nautical miles from the harbor to Wurster Arm. The first approach from the sea is buoy W50 (formerly W16). Then look for the first red and white buoy. A town sign is attached to it, see photos. Caution! The speed limit from the town sign is 50 km/h😁 There are then three more red buoys before the pricks begin. The harbor is approx. 1.5 hours from HW. It is recommended to enter before HW, as you can then get free again after grounding due to the rising water level.

Berths

Guests will find dry berths on the quays to the north and south of the Sielhafen. There are also some cutters moored on the northern quay, which is approx. 170m long. Five of them when they are all there. The berths are primarily reserved for cutters. The area on the south pier is needed for turning the cutters. Please do not lie in the packet.

Surroundings

There are plenty of restaurants and adequate supply options in Wremen, around 1 km away.

There are half a dozen stalls selling fish, bratwurst and currywurst as well as cold drinks on the south pier. Guests only have to walk a few fathoms to get here.

There is a train station on the land side of the village with hourly connections to Cuxhaven and Bremerhaven.

There is a small supermarket in the village with all the essentials. There is also an ATM.

There are two museums, among other things, for culture. One is the Curious Shell Museum and the Museum of Wadden Fishing. The latter has an outdoor exhibit, the wooden   crab cutter WRE 2 Koralle, which is located high and dry in the center of the village.

There are several restaurants in the village and also behind the dike, usually with a focus on fish.

Crabs are available fresh from the cutter, shortly after entering, or on the beach road. On the starboard side, you can only get the gold from the North Sea directly from the fisherman's wife or, on the port side, other fish from the local "Verleihnix".
