The somewhat secluded marina of the Büsum Sailing Club is located in basin 4 of the otherwise quite lively fishing and excursion boat harbor. The marina has a water depth of 1.8m at MNW. The walk from the marina to the center of Büsum takes about 30 minutes. Large yachts have to look for a place in basin 2 or 3.

The approach via the deep and lighted fairway of the Süderpiep can be made day and night. The Norderpiep fairway is buoyed but not lighted. In addition, difficult sea conditions must be expected on the bar with a water depth of 3m. The port of Büsum itself is protected by a storm surge barrier. At water levels of 0.4m above mean sea level, the barrage is closed. Ships 30m can then pass through the lock. Passage through the barrage or lock is regulated by light signals. If necessary, give the sound signal two long before the barrage (or VHF 11). A strong transverse tidal current must be expected at the pier heads.
