In the Uvala Sveti Grgur there is a small wooden jetty for
dinghies, at the head of the quay are ca.3,8m water depth, here the
excursion boats moor. There is a small summer restaurant, but
otherwise no other supplies exist on this lonely island.
The island of Orgur was a prison island until 1988, the ruins of
the former camp are located east of the bay. The island of Grgur,
like the neighboring island of Goli, was a prison island of the
Yugoslav KPD from 1945 to 1988 and served as a women's camp. With
the men's camp on the neighboring island of Goli Otok, 11,000 -
18,000 prisoners were imprisoned on both islands.
