Navigation
The approach is unproblematic by day and night. The high-rise buildings of Damp can be seen from afar as landmarks from the sea. The two pier heads are lit at night, the entrance is from the southeast. The rockfill is marked at the northern end by a light buoy (Q).
Berths
Guest boats are moored at the moorings in the northern part of the outer harbour at a water depth of 2-2.5 m, or by arrangement with the harbour master in the inner harbour. The outer harbour with the guest moorings is very choppy in stormy south-easterly winds.
Surroundings
All facilities are available . The on-site hospital with rehabilitation clinic attracts many visitors, who are offered the usual framework of entertainment. These include restaurants, discovery pool with sauna, sports facilities and bowling alley.
NV Land Guide
The bed and concrete castle of the Ostsee-Resort-Damp is not necessarily a feast for the eyes, but in contrast to some complexes further east, the varied entertainment on offer here is something to be proud of. Even if the animation program is not to everyone's liking, the abundance of wellness, sports and leisure facilities is remarkable. Especially for children, the Baltic resort offers an extensive calendar of events and numerous leisure facilities. A bathing paradise awaits visitors, the fun & sports centre offers a variety of exercise possibilities. Bowling alleys, diving courses, water skiing lessons, golf park, tennis courts, billiard tables, numerous restaurants, a fitness centre, riding courses, child care including babysitting and much more is offered by Damp. On the other hand, the sports boater looking for peace and quiet should steer clear of Damp, especially in the high season. For him, after all, the high-rise buildings are a landmark visible from afar.
As a memorial to the rescue by sea from the former eastern territories towards the end of the Second World War, the "Albatros", lying on dry land in the harbour, served until 1999. The ship brought many refugees to Schleswig-Holstein and is now a natural history museum with a small collection and various hands-on activities on the formation of the coastal landscape under the motto "Geology to touch". At the same time, the ship is a Baltic Sea veteran worth seeing. A worthwhile excursion destination north of Damp is the bird sanctuary around the Schwansener See lake in the direction of Schönhagen.
On the port side in the front part of the marina lies the sea rescue boat "Nimanoa" on station.
