Caution: Extensive set nets, some of which extend far out to sea (2.5sm) and lie close to the fairway to the east and west of the entrance.
Berths
Guests are moored in the marina at 2 - 2.5m. The harbour of the lime works is closed.
Surroundings
There are good utilities in this somewhat secluded location.
NV Land Guide
Whoever is forced by the weather to call at this port will leave it at the next opportunity. Dust and noise are guaranteed, as the port is a shipping point for sand-lime bricks from a large lime quarry near Faxe. The ugly lime warehouses around the berths stand in a scenic setting, but the forest, the beautiful beach, Blabæks Mill and the geological-cultural history museum in Faxe (Torvegade 29) can't outweigh the harbour's disadvantages.
If, as I said, you're still drawn here, you should take a look at the finds in the museum that come from the lime quarry. The limestone deposits, which were formed around 70 million years ago in the Cretaceous period, have a special name among geologists as a place of discovery.
