NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

The approach to the fired port is possible day and night. It takes place in the white sector of the Lynaes beacon (Oc(2)WRG.6s). When entering the harbour, leave the unlit red buoy on port side and approach the old harbour or the marina from here.

Berths

Guests will find a good spot in the small, old harbour basin on the inside of the west pier. The water depth here is about 3 m. Or you can moor in the new marina on free spaces by arrangement with the harbour master. The eastern part of the marina is very choppy in onshore winds. Anchoring:
Northeast of the harbour you will find a very good anchorage in Skaldevig Bay.

Surroundings

The harbour offers excellent sanitary facilities as well as a repair service with crane, slip and yacht equipment and a cosy clubhouse with gastronomy. Food is available at the small supermarket near the harbour. Further supply possibilities can be found in Hundested, 2.5 km away.

NV Land Guide

The Lynæs-Hundested-Nykøbing triangle at the entrance to the Isefjord is particularly important as a base on the way in or out of the fjord. While Hundested is often called at by pleasure craft that want to continue on to Odden or Gilleleje, and Nykøbing as a tranquil little town is on the list of many Isefjord visitors anyway, Lynæs is often called at as the first port on the way into Roskildefjord. However, it is also considered a good "springboard" for the onward journey to the Isefjord. In short, Lynæs is the best of the three when it comes to starting position and also offers the amenities of a large, modern marina with a restaurant and fishmonger at the berths. A small boatyard, a ship chandlery and the restaurant-café "Skipperstuen" are located at the harbour.

On the way to the village you come across a grocery store near the harbour. And the cosy "Lynæs Kro"' is just to the right on the main road. The distance from the marina to the bakery is about 200 metres.

The old harbour basin is quiet, as professional fishermen make themselves scarce there and the ferry connection to Kulhuse has been moved to Sølager. Only the hiss and hum of the aged wind turbines mar the tranquillity somewhat. A few low houses away from the harbour remind us of the old days of the former ferry and fishing village. Apart from a few villas, the picture around the town centre is dominated by suburban buildings. A popular bathing beach is located in the immediate vicinity of the harbour.
