The approach to the fired harbour is possible day and night. It takes place in the white sector via a designated channel with a target depth of 2.5 m. The approach has a strong tendency to silting up, so that water depths of 1.5 m must be expected. Note the poorly visible transverse sheet pile wall in front of the entrance.

Berths

Guests moor immediately on arrival at the quay or lie in agreement with moorers on free places. The water depth is 1.5 - 2.5 m.

Surroundings

The small harbour offers the usual sanitary facilities as well as a bunker station and shipyard service. Satisfactory supply possibilities exist in the place. The harbour has STF guest harbour standard.

NV Land Guide

Viken is commonly regarded as the cosiest port on the Swedish Sund coast. The fishing village, with a maritime museum, an old windmill, a church worth seeing, small shops, thatched wooden houses and narrow, winding streets between beautiful half-timbered buildings, is indeed an appealing travel stop. However, a large blue corrugated iron building by the harbour and a row of swanky villas and bungalows all around are more out of keeping with the historic district.

The more well-heeled Helsingborgians have pitched their "quarters" on the shore path to the north in a location to be envied.

In contrast, they are more deserving of sympathy for the prices in Viken's inns. Positive consequences of tourism are the good supply possibilities.

At the harbour itself, which has to be certified as having some suburban character, there is a gallery in a wooden cottage, a café, a

restaurant as well as a fish stall offering caviar, lobster and French champagne.
