Description

Large, well-maintained yacht facility on the eastern shore of the Sound between Copenhagen and Helsingør.

NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

The approach to the fired harbour is unproblematic day and night and is directly from the Sound . The maximum speed in the harbour basin is three knots.

Berths

In this marina, which is one of the largest in Denmark, guests will always find a berth. The water depth is 2.5 - 3m. There is a de-icing system installed underwater in the harbour basin. Therefore, the use of the anchor is not allowed in the entire harbor area.

Surroundings

The modern marina offers all service and supply possibilities from grocery store to sailmaker and boatyard ( also fuel), also very good rail connections to Copenhagen.

NV Land Guide

Rungsted unfortunately lacks something that Vedbæk to the south does not have either: Atmosphere. The huge marina with 800 berths is one of the largest in Denmark. A few fishermen seem lost between big motor yachts. In contrast, the noble café "Nokken" near the berths fits in with the picture on land, which is mainly dominated by modern villas. In the noble restaurant one dines with sea view - in good weather also on the terrace of the house. Elegance seems to have been the motto of the planners of Rungsted, but boredom is the result due to the oversized layout. The sea of masts crushes the quite stylish buildings at the berths. There are no supply problems in the Supermarina. Every possible service is offered. From the provision shop to the sailmaker, all imaginable facilities and shops are available, including a boutique.

The building worth seeing on the other side of the coastal road is Rungstedlund Castle, which also houses the Karen Blixen Museum. On display there, in addition to the authentically preserved furnishings, are oil paintings done by Blixen herself and other collectibles. The writer published a number of titles under various pseudonyms. The book 'Out of Africa' and the 1985 film of the same name about her eventful life in Denmark and Kenya became world famous. The impressive castle park, which is also a bird reserve, invites you for a walk. On a hill here under a large tree is also the grave of the poet.

Even without directions, the sports skipper will have no problems in "approaching" the "Rungsted Kro", also located above the coastal road. Since the Middle Ages, the Kro has been a royally privileged inn halfway between Copenhagen and Helsingør.

And even without directions, the sports boater will have no problem "approaching" the Kro, also located above the coastal road.
