Surroundings
In addition to fuel and boat accessories, you will also find a small boatyard for repair work. Further supplies are available in the village about 2 kilometers away (rental bikes from the harbormaster).
The internationally known museum of modern art "Louisiana" is also located near the harbor, which attracts not only many sailors to Humlebæk.
NV Land Guide
Here things are a bit chaotic, but cosy. At first glance, the facilities of the shipyard, campers and sailors seem to be jumbled together. At second glance, you recognize System in the deranged-looking harbor, which has an ace up its sleeve in the world-famous Louisiana Museum of Art that stings. It was founded in the immediate vicinity of the harbor by a wealthy Copenhagen merchant in 1958 and has since served as a model for many museums around the world. The art park in particular has found imitators around the world.
Louisiana's appeal lies in the interplay between the sculptures and the beautiful parkland and picturesque views of the Sound. Sculptures by Max Ernst, Hans Arp, Alexander Calder, Henry Moore and Alberto Giacometti stand in the green space. A collection of international modern painting (from 1950 to the present) can be seen in the museum rooms. Numerous concerts, film screenings and readings take place in the art museum. A concert hall with a magnificent view of the Øresund is designed to combine impressions of nature and music. The architecture of the other buildings, including a guest house and a multi-purpose building, also fits into the park landscape, which in turn is surrounded by the villas of Copenhagen and Helsingør "high society". The particularly well-heeled have secured a front-row seat on the coastline - with a view of the Øresund, of course.
The crowning glory of a visit to the museum would be dinner at the cosy restaurant "Bakkehuset" by the harbour, where on mild evenings food is also served in the café garden.
Sport divers will find about 800m NE of the harbour the remaining remains of the liner "Sjælland", which sank in 1801. In the harbour, the activities of the "Harbour Cannoneers" association commemorate this historical event.
