Navigation
The port can also be approached at night. It is easy to follow the Göta Älv fairway to Gothenburg in the direction of Lake Vänern. At night, however, it can be difficult to find your way due to the many buoys, fires and distracting lights in the background. There is a lot of shipping traffic in the fairway and in the harbor. Particular attention should also be paid to the many passenger ships moored throughout the harbor. Pleasure craft should therefore keep an eye out and stay on the starboard side of the fairway as long as possible. The current in Göta Älv is westerly, usually at a speed of 0.5 - 1.5 knots.
Berths
They are moored with the stern against the bridge and a fixed berth on the ground tackle (laid out ground tackle with a fixed stern line). Anchoring and mooring at the stern is not permitted. Protection from all wind directions, but strong westerly and north-westerly winds can lead to considerable water level fluctuations in Göta Älv. The water depth is 2 - 3 m.
Partially defective mooring lines (August 2022)
Surroundings
The center of Gothenburg is within walking distance. There is a unique vehicle museum, the four-masted barque Viking (now a hotel ship) and Gothenburg's new concert hall and opera house right by the guest harbor.
