NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

The entry is uncomplicated and can be done from any direction. The sound between Nord-Hällsö and the small island northwest of it has more than 2 m water depth everywhere.

Berths

You are moored in the bay off stern anchor on the mountainous headland. Water depth is 2 - 2.5 m, shallower going boats have more places to choose from. Good shelter from wind from directions between south and west. With strong north-westerly wind there is corresponding swell. With wind directions between north and southeast the harbour is unsuitable as a berth. The ground is good, but abundant seaweed can make anchoring difficult.

Surroundings

Nord-Hällsö is high and eye-catching. From the highest point of the island you have a breathtaking view. There is a large stand of yew trees here, the rocks are beautiful and inviting. The island also has a small sandy beach. Dry toilet is available.
