Navigation

The easiest way to approach is to first follow the north shore of Lyngnhuvudet at 270° and head for the desired berth just before Långeskär. Avoid the shoal in the southern bay by keeping close to the southern shore of Stora Varholmen. Note the rock with surf east of Stora Gluppan (see map). In addition to the visible part of the rock where the waves break, note the less visible part of the rock about 30 - 50 m to the northwest.

Berths

You lie in front of stern anchors at marked spots on Långeskär and Stora Varholmen at 1.5 - 4 m. It is deepest on the north shore of Långeskär. Good shelter in winds from the south to northwest. The subsoil varies in its suitability for anchoring. In the bay of Stora Varholmen you can lay a stern line to the opposite shore.

Surroundings

Långeskär is large and inviting for walks. Beautiful rocks with fantastic views can be found as well as good swimming spots. There is even a small sandy beach south of the jetties. Stora Varholmen Bay is also called Honeymoon Bay - why is a matter of free speculation.
