Navigation

The fairway to the port is lit, so that an entry is also possible at night. At night, however, the many lights of the place disturb and complicate navigation.

Berths

You moor off stern anchor or alongside on the guest berths in the southern of the two harbour basins, close to the town centre. Note that you are only allowed to moor for a short time on the outside of the piers, furthermore mooring at the fishing quay is generally prohibited for pleasure boats. The water depth at the guest moorings is 2 - 3.5 m. The protection from sea and wind is exceptionally good. Low current off the harbour entrance sets northwards.

Surroundings

Kungshamn was formerly called Gravarne and is now the central town of Sotenäs municipality. Fishing and canning were once the biggest employers, although stone quarrying and cargo sailing were not insignificant. In the summer, there are some cultural events here from time to time, in addition to a nightlife that is exciting by Swedish standards. At the harbour you can book boat trips to Hållö or take the bus to Uddevalla.
