Description

Fishing and recreational boat harbour located in the northwest of Orust

NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

The harbour is unlit, but is so close to a lit fairway that it can also be entered at night. From the Ellösefjord fairway, you steer directly to the harbour entrance. Between Orust and Skaftölandet, the current comes from different directions, but before Ellös, it is only of low strength. In the narrows at the fire Fredagsholmen, however, it can be up to 2 kn and at Springtiden in the narrows Malö Strömmar and Björnholmsund, east of Ellös, even up to 5 kn.

Berths

You moor in front of stern anchors or buoys at the western bridges at a water depth of 2 - 3,5 m. By arrangement, other free places may also be used. The harbour offers good protection from wind from all directions, but limited in strong winds from north to north-east.

Surroundings

From a poor fishing community, Ellös developed after a changeable history, dependent on herring fishing, to today's largest holiday and industrial resort on the island. Ellös has over 200 holiday homes and the world-famous Hallberg Rassy boatyard. Bus connection to Henån. Diesel at the commercial quay northeast of the harbour entrance.

Comments

Martin, Sunny Side
Feste Heckleinen an der Innenseite des westl. Außenstegs, Heckanker verboten. Durch die Schiffe am Handelskai im Nordosten ist es manchmal etwas laut.
