The surface flow in Rudkøbingløb is tidal and wind dependent. In calm weather it turns every 6 hours (1-2 kn).- In strong westerly winds, when the water is pushed into the Baltic Sea, the current sets southwards. When the water is pushed out of the Baltic Sea, especially in strong easterly winds, the current sets northwards (1-5kn).
