Opening of the Engelsgrube swing bridge:

The port swing bridge may only be crossed with the prior consent of the port authority if the passage requires the bridge to be opened. This must be requested one day in advance from the port authority (ship registration office).Thurs. 7 am - 2 pm, Fri. 7 am - 12 pm, Tel. +49 451 122 6784

Opening hours are daily (including Sundays and public holidays):

  • from 08.30 - 09.30 and
  • from 01.04. to 30.09. on Sundays from 20.00 - 21.00
  • from 01.10. to 31.

Outside opening hours, the harbour swing bridge is only opened in emergencies or dangerous situations.

Light signals and any loudspeaker announcements by the bridge keeper must be observed.

There is no charge for opening the harbour swing bridge.
