Norwegian Coastal Current
The Norwegian coastal current begins in the sea area south of the Oslofjord and consists of the Baltic Current, the Skagerrak Current and the fresh water inlets of the Oslofjord. It flows with a strength of 1-2kn in SW direction along the coast, and is about 10-15nm wide. Its greatest strength is at a distance of about 4-8nm from the coast. Depending on the general weather conditions over the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, deviations are to be expected.
