The Halden Canal:
For vessels with a max. draugth of 1,6m, beam 6m, length 24m and a masthead height of less than 5,7m there is the Halden Canal.
Because the canal is not accesible without trailer lift the route starts east of the City of Halden, in Tistedal at the lake Femsjøen. There is also a trailer lift service from Halden to the Swedish Dalslands canal.
With a total lift of 27 m the Brekke Lock in the Halden Canal is the highest in Northern Europe. Via four lock chambers vessels are lifted from 79 m up to 106 m.
