Description

Calais is a port city that is connected to the European river network by a lock in the Carnot Basin. The port of Calais connects France with England at Dover. The old town Calais Nord is located on an artificial island which is surrounded by canals.

Navigation

The pleasure basin and the West basin. In the outer harbour there can be strong agitation due to the north west and north east winds. Access is possible two hours before and three hours after full tide, then every hour.

Berths

In the western basin there are 242 places, of which 30 are reserved for visitors. In the grounding basin, there are simply 45 spaces. The opening of the bridge for the west basin is simply from two hours before full tide until three hours after full tide. The reception is on the visitors' pontoon in the western basin. Anchoring is prohibited in the inner harbour.
