Savar - an old fishing village situated on the picturesque
Uvala Drazia - a sandy headland connects the small peninsula of
Pelegrin with Duki Otok. On this land connection is the small
boat harbor protected with a breakwater. On the outer side of the
pier you can moor in 2 - 3 meters of water, the northern head of
the pier right in front of the church has 2.8 meters of water. You
can also anchor in the sheltered bay and moor with the dinghy in
the small boat harbor.
The small church of Sv. Pelegrin (13th century) on the cemetery
peninsula is one of the most important sacral buildings
Croatia and belonged to the monastery abandoned in the 16th
century. The place is situated above the harbor between olives and
vineyards and offers a magnificent view over the islands of Virsko
More. In the past people lived here from fishing and the famous
stone quarries in the area, the stones were even processed in the
UN building in New York. Except for the morning baker's cart, there
are no utilities here.
