Information

The Gnevsdorfer Vorfluter flows out here. It primarily serves to regulate the water level between the Elbe and the Havel, but is also an alternative waterway for pleasure boats to the Lower Havel Waterway (UHW). As a state waterway of the state of Brandenburg, it runs parallel to the Elbe for approx. 11 km. The following mun-ding section of the Havel is a federal waterway and joins the UHW at Havelberg.
The WT in the Gnevsdorfer Vorfluter depends on the Elbe water level when the summer weir is open and is usually above 1.5m. During the damming period (in case of prolonged drought) the water depth above sandbanks can drop below 1m. In this case you should not leave the buoyed fairways and be aware of the sometimes strong currents. Please inform yourself at the lock Gnevsdorf.
From 22.00 to 5.00 o'clock and additionally on Sat, Sun and holidays from 12.00 to 15.00 o'clock there is a driving prohibition for sport boats with combustion engine.
The permissible maximum speed amounts to on the Gnevsdorfer preflood 12 km/h and on the Havel mouth distance 9 km/h.
The WT in the following Havel mouth distance amounts to with MW min. 1,5m, unloading depth 1,1m. Observe city or lock upper level Havelberg, reference level MW = 194 cm.
