Information

This is where the Elbe-Lübeck Canal begins (see pages 63-69).
In Lauenburg harbour (lock canal) the zHG is 4 km/h. When entering from the Elbe, the direction of concreting changes, irritations are possible. In front of the shipyard facilities, the slips and brightings extend very far out into the fairway (observe buoys). Despite the opposite direction of the current, here and in the following Elbe-Lübeck Canal you are on the downstream side. In front of the lock there is a shortage of places to wait for pleasure boats - if necessary you should moor at a dolphin and refrain from driving back and forth.
