Kali, the oldest and with 1600 inhabitants the largest village
on the island of Ugljan, is located on the peninsula on Rt.
Rahovaca. The old port basin in the Luka Kali intended for small
boats. The old place with the houses built of field stones is
crossed by narrow streets.
In the Uvala Bataloza, in the southeast of the peninsula, there is
a newer port, here the larger fishing boats are moored. In the
inner harbor small local boats are moored and guests may also find
a place here. At the harbor is a small bar with snack.
Both harbors are connected by a beautiful shore path, various
restaurants on the line the way.
In the village you will find several supermarkets, fish market,
tourist office restaurants, post office and a hospital. The village
was first mentioned around 1300 and is dominated by the baroque
church of Sv.Lovre, built in 1698 on older foundations. A fishing
festival is held in the church square during the full moon in
July/August. The small church of St. Pelegrin (14th century) stands
on a hill above the village.
