Description

Very large, man-made modern port with a lot of tourism. In the western part with huge apartment buildings, in mimicked Moorish style, are exclusively private moorings and countless restaurants, boutiques and bars. Together this results in a lot of hustle and bustle and noise.

Navigation

The entrance to the harbour,  especially with swell or high waves,  can be quite tricky. On the one hand, the shoal of almost 2m south of the entrance is to be observed,   on the other hand, the southern pier head is to be bypassed widely. Unfortunately, outgoing ships do not pay enough attention to this fact and regularly take the short way out of the harbour without making a wide enough turn. As an incoming boat, one is then inevitably pushed onto the rocks that are under water in the extension of the pier head. Even the rescue cruiser, which just left as we wanted to enter,  blocked our way and forced us with swell and a good one meter sea a ticklish maneuver on to avoid the stones.

Berths

You must first moor in this harbour at the petrol station, where the harbour office is also located, in order to check in and get assigned a berth. The guest berths are located in the first harbour basin, for the sailing yachts mostly at the west wall. Mooring assistance by marinero. Electricity and water are available and are settled with a lump sum (2€). We were surprised about the quite favorable berthing fees , we had expected higher in this monster port (32 € at 37 ft).

Surroundings

All utilities are available,  supermarket within 5 minutes walking distance. The northern harbour basin is mainly occupied by members of the local Club Nautico, there are shipyard operations,  travel lift,  ramp etc. Petrol station directly at the harbour entrance.
