Description

Sveti Filip i Jakov is a small resort on the Pasman Channel north of Biograd with 2 small harbors for local boats. The southern basin has a wide breakwater and you can moor on the outside at 3m water depth. The place offers everything a resort needs and this has hardly changed since Roman times. 3000 years ago a small illyrian settlement stood here. The ruins of the stone walls and burial mounds are still visible today, and in the 1st century it was a summer residence for deserving officers of the Roman Empire. Later the noblemen from Zadar built their summer residences here, today it continues to be a vacation resort and people enjoy the sea, the beaches and the Dalmatian landscape, which is extremely beautiful here. The old town center, which has been preserved to this day, was built in the 16th century.
At the entrance to the old town center is the castle (17th century) and the church (16th century).
In any case, you should visit the pleasure garden of the noble family Borelli, protected monument of landscape architecture in the center of the town, as well as the ruins of the Benedictine palace on Rogovo and the house Borelli with arboretum (natural monument).
