Description

The old fishing village of Zlarin in the northwest of the 169 high, forested island has been settled since Roman times and today lives from tourism. The inner harbour is about 2m deep and occupied by local small boats. The ferry moors on the east side at the large, lighted pier, and yachts can moor behind it in 3m of water. On the other side is at the head 3.9m and further to the land only 2.8m water depth. Here the garbage boat moors 2x a week. The places are mostly occupied and the small local jetty with the 2t crane east of the breakwater is shallow. In front of the harbour there is a small mooring field with water depths of around 5m, but it is also possible to anchor here a little away from the moorings. In bora there is a swell in the harbour and in strong NW winds the harbour becomes uncomfortable to dangerous.
