Description

The Morinjski, Risanski and Kotorski Zaliv bays are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Kotorski Zaliv consists of four separate basins connected by straits. The bays of Risan and Kotor are among the most impressive landscapes of the Adriatic coast due to the overhanging large limestone walls of the Orjen and Lovćen mountains.
At Risan and Kotor there are more productive usable freshwater springs, such as the Orijenski Vodopad waterfall at Risan - after heavy rains in the Orjen Mountains a 25m high waterfall falls over a stone wall into the sea (ca.150 m³/sec.) one of the most productive karst springs on earth.
