Description

In Zastražišće there are several restaurants and a grocery store. The village was a guard post for the island, because of the many pirate raids. The Illyrian fortress on Vela Glava (315m) and the two towers of the patrician family Anđelinović in the village also bear witness to this. The parish church is situated on a picturesque hill and offers a view of the Biokovo Mountains and the Makarska Riviera on the mainland.
The street village is a beautiful example of village architecture with its old stone houses, courtyards and alleys. Olive trees grow in the surrounding fields and produce the best oils on the island.
