Tihi Kanal Passage

Special regulations are in force for vessels navigating Tihi Kanal. Approval to navigate Tihi Kanal must be obtained from the Port Authority at Rijeka. Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 500 gt. Vessels proceeding from SE must give way to vessels from NW. Vessels proceeding from SE should reduce speed off Rt Ertak and make the appropriate sound signals to indicate their intended movements. Bora gales blow with great fury from any direction but especially from N. The Scirocco is also strong and may cause the current to attain a rate of 3kn. Vertical clearance main passage east of O.S.Marko is 60m, west of O.S.Marko 50m.
