The Bøgestrøm fairway is unlit and you should only enter the harbor during the day. From the fairway, you head for it at 270°, keeping clear of the 1.2 m deep stumbling ground, and reach the harbor via the 1.7 m deep concrete dredged channel.

Berths

There are hardly any guest berths. You can moor on the north side of the central bulwark (1.5 m) by arrangement with the harbour master.

Anchoring places: A good spot is north of the harbor at a water depth of 2.8 m, just under land.

Surroundings

Simple sanitary facilities, but no supply options. The small boat harbors of Kindvig Strand and Balle Strand south of Sandvig (water depth 0.5 m) should only be used by those familiar with the area.

NV Land Guide

The small harbor of Sandvig is hidden behind reed beds. Although it is idyllic, it is not very deep and offers little space for pleasure craft. If you come here on a smaller boat, you will find a cosy place with just under 100 inhabitants, where the supply options are very poor.

The forests, which start a good kilometer northwest of the village and are criss-crossed by hiking trails, are a good destination for an excursion. Shopping facilities can be found in Mern, five kilometers west of Sandvig. Mern used to be the terminus of the now disused Næstved-Præstø-Mern railroad. The village is named after the small river, the Mern Å (Au). The small river flows into Stege Bay around four kilometers south of Sandvig. The memorial stone erected in Præstøvej in Mern in 1903 commemorates the abolition of the tithe tax.

In Sandvig itself, the large village pond stands out, with goats and ducks getting along peacefully on its banks.
