NV Cruising Guide

Navigation

From the north, migrate south along Great Harbour Cay’s western side, skirting the shallow sandbars south of both Little Stirrup Cay and Great Stirrup Cay. From the west, Great Harbour Cay is approached in a 4-mile long, 2-m-deep marked channel. A narrow canal cuts through the cliff in a northerly direction into the basin. Another marked channel runs to the northeast before turning to the southeast and to the marina. On the island’s eastern shore, (see chart B11) there is a 2-mile long bight hemmed in by Petit Cay, Hawksnest Cay, and the northern tip of Haines Bluff Cay. An airport is just inland from the beach. The approach is in at least 4.5 m, but shoals to 2 m close to the beach.
