Skäldervik, Arild - Nimis und Staat Ladonia, begehbares Kunstwerk

Artwork NIMIS (lat: too much) respectively to the Republic of Ladonia. In Copenhagen there's the independent state of Kristiania, here there's the micronation of Ladonia - only that in Kristiania people really live, while in Ladonia there are 28,000 "abroad"-settled inhabitants. There's even its own flag.

Lars Vilks (61) created NIMIS. When the local building authority noticed it, it was to be demolished (structure without building permit). To prevent this, first the German action artist Joseph Beuys and then the wrapping artist Christo bought it.
It consists of 75 tons of wood and 160,000 nails.
Nimis is an explicitly socio-critical work of art, it denies art as a source of income and speculation object. This is called land art. Land Art artists create artworks in such a way that they cannot be exhibited anywhere and do not fit into any museum. If you want to see the art, you have to go where it is.
