Description

Maritime Museum "Schulschiff Deutschland", once built in Geestemünde at the Tecklenborg shipyard as a training sailing ship, it is the last German full-rigged ship with a maximum mast height of 52 m in the main deck.  

The ship can be visited daily, but can also be booked for events or activities including overnight stays (30 berths). Group tours are available for groups of 10 or more by prior arrangement. Weddings with a maximum of 20 people are possible in the captain's saloon.

Launched on June 14, 1922, the training of young nautical talent took place from 1927 to 1944 on 12 major Atlantic voyages and from 1927 to 1939 on 17 North Sea and Baltic voyages. Up to 140 trainees per voyage were supervised by a regular crew of around 25 people.
